No. Fire extinguisher brackets are designed specifically for the manufacturer's unit and are part of the UL qualification testing. Use only those brackets that are specified for the fire extinguisher you are installing.

With the use of engineered polymers and computer-aided design, the PyroSafe™ Guardian™ replaces traditional heavy metal cylinders. The body and head are formed with precision through high-pressure injection molding, resulting in interchangeable parts with consistent properties, which in turn creates a superior unit.

The 10lb model will discharge its agent within 13 to 15 seconds when the valve is held fully open and the temperature is at 70°F.

No. To some individuals, it can be an irritant to the lungs and eyes. Remove from exposure and if irritation persists, consult a medical professional.

Yes. The PyroSafe™ Guardian™ has been UL tested and meets or exceeds all fire safety and performance criteria.

It is the highest grade of monoammonium phosphate (MAP) available. MAP content is ≥90%.

Yes. Exposure to ultraviolet light, salt, moisture, and temperature extremes are all part of UL testing criteria.

The 18-year service life is established by the manufacturer based on rigorous UL-validated accelerated aging tests. These tests simulate nearly two decades of real-world stress, including extreme UV exposure and saltwater environments. While NFPA 10 provides general guidelines for all extinguishers, the specific service life of a proprietary, non-pressurized unit is determined by the engineering results that cleared it for UL listing.

The PyroSafe™ Guardian™ is UL Listed and code-compliant in all 50 states. Occasionally, an AHJ may be unfamiliar with this new technology. It is important to note that NFPA 10 already allows owners to perform monthly inspections. Because the Guardian™ is a stored pressure-less unit, the traditional internal maintenance required for legacy units is built into the simple, owner-led inspection process. We provide educational resources to help your Fire Marshal understand how this innovation meets and exceeds safety codes.

We do not currently offer a Class K version. For customers with commercial kitchens, we recommend maintaining your current Class K units through a certified service provider while utilizing the Guardian™ for your A, B, and C hazard areas.

Yes! A 20lb version is currently in development. Our engineering team is focused on ensuring this larger unit meets the same high standards for ergonomics and reliability as our flagship 10lb model.

In many cases, yes, but it depends on your specific hazard classification and the approval of your local Fire Marshal. Many professionals prefer two 10lb Guardian™ units because they offer better maneuverability and, thanks to our rapid-reload system, can actually deliver a more continuous stream of agent than a single 20lb legacy unit.

Yes. We offer a specialized water-based training unit that allows users to practice the unique fluff and activate process without discharging dry chemicals. Additionally, we are developing an AI-driven desktop simulator to provide immersive virtual training for corporate safety teams.

Yes. The PyroSafe™ Guardian™ is engineered and UL-tested to remain fully operational in environments ranging from -40°F to 120°F. During the certification process, the unit is subjected to these maximum temperatures for extended periods – far longer than a typical desert heatwave – to ensure it performs reliably when needed. Unlike traditional extinguishers that can leak under thermal expansion, our non-pressurized, cartridge-based design is specifically suited for high-temperature stress of vehicle storage.

Many customers choose to donate their existing units to employees for personal home use or gift them to local community organizations. Alternatively, you can take them to a local Fire Equipment Dealer (FED) for professional recycling or disposal. Upgrading to the Guardian™ allows you to move away from the expensive annual service cycles required for those older units.

No. The PyroSafe™ Guardian™ is constructed from high-impact, UV-stabilized materials specifically designed for harsh environments. The unit has undergone rigorous UV and saltwater spray testing – exceeding the same standards as traditional metal extinguishers – to ensure the polymer remains vibrant and structurally sound even after years of direct sun exposure.

Yes. Only the expellant cartridge and agent container must be replaced after discharge. All other components are reusable.

You will need to consult your local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) on the requirement. We recommend these inspections to ensure units are located properly and not damaged or vandalized. The inspections also provide an opportunity to fluff the chemical extinguishing agent, assuring that it is in the optimum fluid state for effective discharge.

No. The PyroSafe™ Guardian™ was designed for self-service and in-house inspections, eliminating the service calls and costly tear-downs.

Yes. Per NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) state and local regulations, you must perform an inspection every 30 days. Please reference the owner's manual for more details.

An experienced Guardian™ operator can recharge it in a few minutes.

While there is no stated "cycle life", testing has shown the reusable portions to perform effectively through dozens of recharges.

We do not recommend removing the expellant cartridge before completely discharging the unit. The extinguisher can still contain high pressure and cause injury and/or the contents to discharge. To release all pressure, invert the unit and tap lightly on the agent container. Point the nozzle in a safe direction and squeeze the lever. Once the pressure is fully released, you can remove the expellant cartridge.

Small amounts of agent can be vacuumed using a HEPA-filter vacuum. Larger amounts should be mopped up using a mixture of water and baking soda to neutralize the agent's acidic properties. Clean any electronics first to prevent damage to components. Blow out with compressed air as a first step.

We recommend ordering a new recharging kit. While the PyroSafe™ Guardian™ may still operate, less agent will reduce the discharge time and potentially put the user at risk.
